Men’s Basketball Prepares for First Round Meeting with Old Dominion

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team will face off against Old Dominion in the first round of the 2020 Air Force Reserve Conference USA Basketball Championships presented by Baylor Scott & White Sports Performance Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. Eastern and will be streamed on ESPN+.Live audio of the contest can be heard on Fox Sports 640 AM.
ABOUT THE OWLS
- FAU kicks off play in the C-USA Tournament with a third meeting against the Monarchs
- The Owls are looking for their first non-play-in tournament victory since 2008
- A win in tonight's contest would be FAU's first non-play-in tournament win at a neutral site since its victory in the 2002 Atlantic Sun championship game
- Junior forward Jailyn Ingram enters Wednesday's game nine rebounds away from becoming just the fourth player in program history to score 1,000 points and grab 500 rebounds (Carlos Monroe, Damon Arnette, Mike Bell)
- The Owls closed out the regular season with a 94-82 loss to Marshall on March 4
- Ingram led the Owls with 19 points, reaching 9th all-time in school history with 1,039 for his career
- ODU leads the all-time series vs. the Owls 9-2
- The Monarchs won both of this season's meetings, which took place in Norfolk
- ODU won 65-55 on Jan. 25 and 85-80 in overtime on March 1
- This will be the second time that FAU and ODU have met in the C-USA Tournament. The Monarchs defeated the Owls 72-46 in 2016
- Junior guard Malik Curry paces the Monarchs at 13.5 points per game
- His backcourt mate, junior Xavier Green, is second at 12.7
- The duo combined for 51 points in the last meeting with the Owls
