– The Florida Atlantic University women's track and field team will compete at the South Carolina Invitational this weekend. This marks the Owls' final indoor meet of the regular season before Conference USA Championships.

FAU took on two meets in Boston last weekend. The Owls opened up the slate at the Crimson Elite Invitational hosted by Harvard, where FAU came up with five top-10 finishes on the day.
Mikaela Jonsson captured second in the 1-mile with a time of 5:05.94, while
Madlen Kappeler came in fourth (5:08.93) and
Lauren Macon took seventh with a huge personal record of 5:15.94.
Cara Simpson logged fourth in the triple jump with 11.77m being the second best finish in school history.
Jessica Lambert finished ninth in her first collegiate pentathlon with a score of 2,956.

The Owls rounded out last weekend at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational hosted by Boston University. Saturday night was highlighted by the 4X400 relay team of
Jessica Lambert,
Lyric Schmalz,
Roshelle Francois and
Anne-Catherine Wasser breaking a 12-year-old school record in the event with a time of 3:47.20. The team finished the event in third. Schmalz qualified for the 60m hurdle finals, finishing in seventh (9.12). Simpson advanced to finals in her first 60m dash of the season to gather eighth (7.96). Additionally, Wasser broke personal records in the 200m (25.29) and 400m dash (56.12). Her time in the 400m became the fourth fastest time in school history.

FAU competed at the Gamecock Inaugural Invitational last season with the Owls achieving two FAU top 10 times/scores and eight new personal records. Wasser threw the eighth best score in school history in the shotput at 8.94 meters.
Lauren Macon raced to a third place finish in the 5000m run (19:48.82), while Jonsson clocked in at 2:16.48 in the 800m run for sixth place.

The Owls will take a week off before they head to Birmingham, Alabama for the C-USA Indoor Championships from Feb. 22-23.
