CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Four members of the Florida Atlantic University women's golf team were named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars, as announced by the organization on July 8.
Tai Barber,
Amanda Leslie,
Taylor Morgan and
Arielle Keating all received the honor.
"I'm incredibly proud of Tai, Amanda, Taylor and Arielle for their efforts in the classroom," said head coach
Aimee Neff. "They each played a crucial role in our success as a team and at the same time did an excellent job with their course work. This is a well-deserved honor by each of them and very impressive for us to have four young women accomplish this feat! All in all it was an outstanding year academically for this team and I expect us to continue to thrive off the course and on it. We have a great group of young women that FAU can be proud of."
WGCA boasts its All-American Scholar award as one of the most prestigious in college athletics with one of the most stringent qualifications of any organization. Golfers must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher to receive the honor.
The FAU women's golf team is no stranger to academic success. The squad has recorded the highest team GPA at FAU for five consecutive semesters, including their combined GPA of 3.72 for the spring 2019 semester.
The team also earned the Owl Cup for the 2018-19 season, which is awarded to a FAU team who earns the most points through academic achievement, community service, game attendance, life skills events, etc. Overall, the team logged over 180 hours of community service.
