BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University track and field team will compete in the Conference USA Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina May 9-12.

THE FIELD
FAU will be competing against 13 other C-USA schools in UAB, Charlotte, FIU, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Rice, Southern Miss, UTEP, UTSA, and WKU.

LAST TIME OUT
The Owls were last in competition at the Tom Jones Invite in Gainesville, Florida on April 26-27. In that meet,
Renee Shaw ran the eighth fastest time in school history in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.32, setting a new personal record for herself.
Anne-Catherine Wasser placed ninth in the 400 meter hurdles after recovering from injury during much of the season.

ABOUT THE OWLS
Heading into the outdoor season, the Owls were ranked No. 39 nationally by the USTFCCCA in the preseason poll. Whyte is currently ranked sixth in the country in the 100 meter dash and 45th in 200 meter. The 4x100 relay team of
Jamesha Moorer, Whyte, Shaw, and
Jenae Ambrose are ranked 42nd nationally by the USTFCCCA.

In the first week of the season, Whyte set a school record by running the 100 meter in 11.17. That mark led the NCAA for the first few weeks of the season. It now ranks as the eighth fastest time and is the top time in C-USA. The 4x100 relay team's time of 45.11 also ranks first in the league. Â Â
