BOCA RATON, Fla. – Only a dozen Conference USA games remain on the 2019 slate for the No. 28 Florida Atlantic University baseball team, and the next-to-last home series this year is this weekend, when the Owls host Old Dominion at FAU Baseball Stadium.
Owls' Midweek in Review
The Owls (28-12, 14-4 C-USA) picked up a big RPI win on the road Tuesday night at Florida, ranked No. 23 prior to the game. The game wasn't decided until the final inning, when FAU pushed four across in the top of the ninth to win 13-11, marking the first time this year they've won a game trailing after eight innings. The 13 runs is a new season high as well.
Owls' Weekend in Preview
Old Dominion (24-15, 7-11 C-USA), after beginning the year 1-8 in league play, have won two of three in each of the last three C-USA sets. That includes a most recent series win at home vs. FIU. This past Wednesday, they fell to No. 12 East Carolina, 10-7. The Monarchs' top hitter is Bryce Windham, at .340, tied for 11th in C-USA with the league's reigning Hitter of the Week,
Joe Montes.
