BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University track and field team will hit the track again this weekend at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational meet hosted by Miami University. The meet runs on Friday and Saturday.
COACH SMOLKA'S TAKE
"We are excited to compete at the University of Miami once again this Saturday. For us, it is almost like having a home meet. We are little bit banged up and will not have everybody racing, however those who will toe the starting line are ready to go; judging by how practice has been going. We are looking forward to some strong performances all around."
LAST TIME OUT
In their last outing, the Owls split up and competed in two different meets. Part of the team competed in the UF Relays and others raced at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic. A couple of FAU runners picked up wins at the Spikes Classic.
Kelsey Meltzer took first in the 3000 meter steeplechase and
Lauren Macon won the 5000 meter run.
