BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (3-16, 0-6 C-USA) will take on in-state and Conference USA rival FIU (3-16, 0-6 C-USA) on Saturday at 2 p.m.

About the Owls
- FAU and FIU come into Saturday's game with identical records at 3-16 and both winless in conference play this season
- Through 19 games, Juliette Gauthier is the leading Owl scorer with 9.7 points per game. Myka Johnson Matthews is close behind, averaging 9.2 points. Abby Voss leads on the rebounding front, pulling down 6.2 boards per game. Glenisha Harkless has 41 assists on the season to lead the team

Series History
- Saturday will be the 44th meeting between FAU and FIU. The Panthers are FAU's longest standing opponent, having started the series in 1985. The two programs have played every season since 2006
- FIU leads the series 31-12, but the Owls have won fi ve of the last eight matchups
- Seven of the Owls' wins have come at home and FAU is 7-4 against the Panthers at home since 2008
- The two teams will meet again on Feb. 23

- The Panthers have dropped eight-straight games, including their six C-USA games
- FIU is led by Paula Orenes who is averaging 17.0 points per game this season. Chelsea Guimaraes is the second leading scorer on the team, putting up 10.5 points per game
- Orenes also leads the Panthers on the boards, pulling down 7.0 rebounds game. Bre'Osha Scott is the team's leading assist earner, averaging 3.1 per game

- FAU features two players who have been turning away shots this season. The Owls are the only team in C-USA to have two players in the top-12 in the league in blocks per game
- Ra'Kyra Gabriel is averaging 0.9 blocks on the season which is tied for the ninth highest in C-USA and the senior is blocking 1.2 shot per game during league play which is tied for fifth in C-USA
- Amber Gaston is averaging 0.8 blocks this season which is 12th in the league. The freshman is stopping one shot per game during C-USA play which is tied for seventh
- As a team, FAU is turning away 3.0 shots per game during conference play which is tied for the fifth most in the league
Hitting the Glass
- The Owls have shown an improvement in rebounding over the course of the season. This week, FAU had three listed in the top 20 in rebounding in C-USA and is the only team in the league to do so
- Abby Voss leads the way, averaging 6.2 (13th), Ra'Kyra Gabriel follows with 5.6 boards per game (17th) and Juliette Gauthier is third with 5.5 (20th)

- 99 – Gabriel and Danneal Ford have played in 99 career games heading into Saturday
- 61 – Gabriel has 61 career blocks which is the ninth all-time at FAU and four away from eighth place
- 226 – For has 226 career assists, placing her nine away from entering the top 10 in FAU history
- 447 – Gabriel has pulled down 447 rebounds in her career, putting her only 17 away from breaking into FAU's top 10 all-time
