BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women's soccer and Old Dominion battled to a 0-0 draw on Thursday night at FAU Soccer Stadium. Despite the tie, the Owls clinched an above-.500 record in Conference USA play, remained undefeated in the league, and have now gone seven matches and over a month without a loss.
The Finish:
In the two extra frames, the two teams combined for just four shots, and neither goalkeeper was forced to record a save. Only six of a combined 34 shots were on target all match long, and each team escaped with a point in the conference standings.
Notables:
FAU (8-6-1, 5-0-1 C-USA) notched the team's fifth clean sheet of the season, with Jennifer Ocampo saving four ODU (5-6-3, 2-3-1 C-USA) attempts, among 24 total shots by the visitors
Quotable:
"Full credit to Old Dominion," said Head Coach Patrick Baker. "They came out and were really good, but also that's the scout. They're really good for the first 20-25, if you can get through (that) without giving up a goal. We're happy with the point, we're happy with the clean sheet."
