BOCA RATON, Fla. – This weekend marks the end of the 2018 home schedule for Florida Atlantic University women's soccer, and begins the back stretch of the Owls' Conference USA slate. The squad is an unblemished 5-0-0 in C-USA play, have won their last six matches, and are 6-1 at FAU Soccer Stadium, the venue at which they host Old Dominion Thursday night, and take on Middle Tennessee Sunday afternoon for Senior Day.
Owls' Week in Review
The Owls (8-6-0, 5-0-0 C-USA) snatched victory from the jaws of defeat last Friday, as UTSA scored 12 minutes in and held the lead until the waning moments. Kaila Armstrong's header equalized things with only 30 seconds remaining, and she came through again in the final minute of the first overtime for the golden goal. Those marked the first two scores of her young FAU career, and the game-winner was named No. 5 on @NCAASoccer's top goals of the week:

Senior Day
Prior to Sunday's contest with MT, the Owls will celebrate the careers of six seniors: Defender Marli Batiste, defender Ebba Blomqvist, midfielder Mimi Godoy, midfielder Mary Hasler, forward Amanda Karabin and goalkeeper Jennifer Ocampo. Festivities will take place on the field ahead of the 1 p.m. kickoff.
Opponent History
The Owls picked up their first win against ODU last season, narrowing the deficit in the series to 3-1-1. Hasler picked up the lone and game-winning goal in the 1-0 home victory. A week later, the Blue Raiders, behind a goal from DePriest, topped the Owls in Boca Raton, also by a 1-0 score. FAU and MT were conference rivals in the Sun Belt as well, and have played 14 times in history, with the Blue Raiders winning nine.
After This
Three regular season matches remain for FAU, all on the road. Next weekend is a trip to Texas, to take on North Texas (Oct. 19) and Rice (Oct. 21), and the schedule wraps locally, against FIU in Miami on Oct. 26. Should the Owls qualify, the Conference USA Championship begins on Oct. 31 in Norfolk, Virginia and will be hosted by ODU.
