No. 16 Owls Throttle Marshall 10-2

BECKLEY, W. Va. â€" The No. 16 Florida Atlantic University baseball team posted its tenth double-digit scoring game of the season, defeating Marshall 10-2 on Saturday behind four doubles and a home run.
The Owls (25-7, 11-3 C-USA) saw eight players tally hits, led by Christian Dicks' 3-for-5, two-run, RBI outing. Brett Lashley was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run while Esteban Puerta drove in three runs. Brandon Rhodes earned the win, striking out six while allowing one run in six innings of work. Alex House dealt two innings before Eric Keating pitched a shutout ninth frame.
Sean Labsan doubled before Austin Langham and Tyler Frank walked to load the bags with one out. Lashley then roped a double to right center to drive in a pair of runs. Frank scored on a Stephen Kerr RBI before Billy Endris singled up the middle to plate Lashley, giving the Owls a 4-0 advantage.
Dicks led off the third with a first-pitch bunt single before Puerta sent the next pitch sailing over the left-field wall for his team-leading fifth homer of the year to extend the advantage to 6-0.
Marshall got on the board in the fourth on a single and double, but Rhodes recorded a strikeout with a runner left on third.
CJ Chatham was hit by the first pitch of the seventh and came around to score on a sac fly by Puerta, the junior's third RBI of the night.
Endris led off the ninth with a walk and moved to scoring position on an error that allowed Chatham to reach. Dicks then doubled to left-center to drive in Endris before Langham singled through the left side to drive in two more runs.
Keating allowed a lead-off walk in the bottom of the ninth, but settled down to record the final three outs without letting a ball out of the infield.
The Owls will go for the sweep in a noon contest on Sunday, April 17 in Beckley, W. Va. Free audio is available on FAUSports.com.
