BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's athletics department has begun the 2011 football season seat selection process for the new on-campus football stadium. Friday, May 6 was the deadline to have seats paid in full to be a part of the early selection process.
There is still time to be a part of the "Early Owl Special." Fans who purchase a at least two tickets, at a minimum of $135 each, by Tuesday, May 31, also will have the opportunity to upgrade, and names on the ticket account will be engraved and displayed in the stadium on the "Early Recognition Wall."
A priority points system has been established to recognize fans who have been long-time supporters of the University and its athletics department. Points are awarded to alumni, past season-ticket holders, as well as for those who have given monetary donations and other philanthropic gifts. Those who have demonstrated a consistent commitment to FAU athletes will be rewarded with an earlier selection time. Points carry over from one year to the next and are totaled annually. Fans who have purchased a 2011 season football ticket and already paid in-full will be contacted by Tuesday, May 31 with their seat selection day and time, in which they will be able to choose their seat online at http://fau.io-media.com/ or by phone.
The 30,000-seat stadium seat is the centerpiece of FAU's Innovation Village, located in the north central area of FAU's Boca Raton campus. The stadium, a $70 million project, is slated to feature 6,000 premium seats, including 24 suites, 26 loge boxes, 1,000 premier club seats and 4,000 priority club seats, and the latest, state-of-the art amenities.
The 2011 football season will host five home games to be played for the first time on FAU's Boca Raton campus. The home season opener is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 15.
