The Florida Atlantic University baseball team closes out the home portion of its schedule with a three-game Sun Belt Conference series against the University of Arkansas-Little Rock beginning on Friday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m. The weekend marks the final home series for 12 seniors at the FAU Baseball Stadium, 777 Glades Road on the Boca Raton campus.
The 12 seniors will be honored prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. match up. The seniors include: Sean Bukovich, Joey Burkhalter, Eddie Cassidy, Raymond Church, Nick DelGuidice, Taylor Everist, Colby Gratton, Jason Kitchen, Andy Mee, Mike Ruccio, Dan Scheffler and Glen Troyanowski.
The Owls stand 28-19 on the season and are in a three-place tie with a 14-10 mark in Sun Belt Conference action. The team is coming off a 6-3 come-from-behind victory at Florida Gulf Coast University on Tuesday. FAU is tied with Western Kentucky and Louisiana-Lafayette heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.
Individually, DelGuidice was named to the Brooks Wallace Watch List for national shortstop of the year. He leads the team with 37 runs batted in and is the school record holder for career doubles. Junior outfielder Alex Hudak leads the conference with a .398 batting average after driving in three runs and legging out two doubles in Tuesday's win over FGCU. Church is tops on the team with 40 runs scored.
The Owls and Trojans have split the previous 10 meetings, but FAU did win a home series from UALR last season.
