BOCA RATON, FL - Fresh off of its second consecutive I-A victory, Florida Atlantic University's football team resumed practice Tuesday after having Monday off. The Owls worked on punting and punt return drills before breaking into team drills. Both offense and defense finished off practice working with the scout teams.
Players broke into positional drills after working on special teams. Quarterbacks worked on accuracy, wide receivers with route running and pass-catching, offensive line with blocking schemes, defensive line with tackling dummies and defensive backs on coverage packages.
Lawrence Gordon recorded the interception of the day, grabbing an over-the-shoulder pass from Dane Hansen intended for Larry Taylor while Casey McGahee made a nice pass break-up after slipping on the sod. Teddy Strachan drew praise from coaches during trench drills with the offensive line after getting by his man numerous times.
The Owls concluded practice working against the scout team. FAU travels to Murfreesboro, TN where it will face Middle Tennessee State. The game will be televised on WTCN TV 15 (Live) for Adelphia subscribers in Palm Beach County and on Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) (Live) in Broward County.
