Mickey Bell joined the Florida Atlantic University softball staff in September 2018 as a volunteer assistant.
Â
Prior to FAU, Bell spent two years at Eastern Illinois University where she served as a graduate assistant softball coach. In her role as GA, Bell assisted in the daily bullpen development of pitchers and catchers, as well as provided support in recruiting events and other important aspects of the softball program.
Â
Bell was a three-year member of the FAU softball team following her transfer from Lipscomb University. She saw a lot of action behind the plate as catcher for the Owls and helped lead FAU to back-to-back NCAA Regional appearances, which also included a sweep of the 2016 Conference USA regular season and tournament titles. During the 2016 season, the Owls’ pitching staff finished the season third in the nation in ERA.
Â
A native of Clarks Hill, South Carolina, Bell graduated from FAU with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and health promotion in 2016. Bell earned her master’s degree in sports administration from Eastern Illinois University in 2018 following her two-year stint with the Panthers.
