BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic softball team returns to the road for a three-game series in Denton against North Texas from Thursday, April 2 to Friday, April 4. Due to weather, the series will open with a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. ET, followed by a Friday first pitch at 6 p.m. ET. All three games will be on ESPN+.
Coming off a series sweep and currently holding a five-game winning streak, the Owls (25-11, 7-5) can overtake a Mean Green (20-16, 9-3) team that is currently tied for first place in the American Conference standings.

Ciara Gibson was named American Player of the Week after seven hits in 11 at-bats with two home runs and five RBI while scoring six runs, while senior
Autumn Courtney won the league's Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season after she allowed just two earned runs and held opposing batters to .109 average while striking out 15 of them over three starts. Courtney's outings over the week was selected as a top performer by the NFCA.
ABOUT THE OWLS
- As back-to-back regular season champions, Florida Atlantic was ranked No. 1 in the American Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- The Owls lead the American Conference in batting average (.315), runs (221), RBI (197), walks (133), on-base percentage (.414), ERA (2.98) earned runs allowed (98), strikeouts thrown (230), and opposing batting average (.228).
- Florida Atlantic ranks No. 13 nationwide in fielding percentage (.980) and No 32 in ERA.
- Redshirt junior outfielder Kylie Hammonds is on a 14-game streak of reaching base and leads the American in runs (38). Her nine home runs through 36 games are more than any FAU player had in 2025.
- Senior third baseman Jesiana Mora leads the team in batting average (.402) and doubles (11) while reaching base in 28 out of 31 games played. On Feb. 28 against Coastal Carolina, she tied FAU's single-game record in walks with four. Mora is also tied for the conference lead in stolen bases with nine.
- Sophomore Lily Holtje has earned both an American Player of the Week and two Honorable Mention recognitions. She leads the Owls in walks (24) and is tied for the team lead in RBI (28).
- All four of Gibson's home runs this season have occurred in the last six games.
- Courtney became the program's fifth All-American in May of 2025 after winning the unanimous American Conference Pitcher of the Year honor. She opened the '26 season, earning American Pitcher of the Week, and currently leads the team with 73 strikeouts and a 2.45 ERA. Courtney is No. 4 nationally among all active players with 71 career victories. In March of 2026, she was named the Palm Beach County Amateur Athlete of the Year.
- Graduate pitcher Ainsley Lambert is No. 2 in the nation with six saves and is the career leader among all active players with 28. She leads the American in batting average allowed (.201).
- Head Coach Jordan Clark is in her fourth season at the helm of the program and owns a 146-59 record. Clark and her assistants received the American Conference Coaching Staff of the Year recognition in both 2024 and '25.
ABOUT THE MEAN GREEN
- North Texas is led by Cody White in his first year leading the program.
- The Mean Green leads the conference in doubles with 59 and are right behind Florida Atlantic in runs (210).
- Junior Madison Conley has launched a conference-best 10 home runs.
- Senior pitcher Britney Lewinski leads the way in the circle with 10 wins and nine complete games.
- North Texas leads the all-time series against Florida Atlantic, 29-17.
