2003: Saw action in every game...recorded 30 tackles playing both defense and on special teams...had four tackles against Middle Tennessee, the program's first I-A victory...recorded a season-high five tackles against Northern Arizona, in the play-offs...had one tackle for a loss of one against Middle Tennessee.
2002: Vied for a spot on the two deep at arguably the deepest positions on the squad….ended the season playing in 10 games…had 17 total tackles, including 12 solo…season high was six tackles against Division I-A University of Connecticut (11-02-02).
2001: Played in seven of the team’s 10 games and finished the season seventh on the squad with 33 tackles…was fifth in solo tackles with 24…had four for a loss of 22 yards which was tied for the team lead in yards lost…was also second in yards lost via the sack at 20…best game was against Drake…recorded eight solo tackles and two assists, including two for a loss of nine yards and a sack for a loss of five yards…recorded four solo tackles against Bethune-Cookman.
2000: Moved from middle linebacker to will linebacker…plays with a lot of excitement…will use speed to his advantage.
High School: Played for Perry Schneider at Deerfield Beach High school…earned All-County, All-Area and All-State…named All-County as a junior…had 70 tackles and 12 sacks as a senior…five-sport athlete (football, track, baseball, basketball and golf)…led Deerfield to an undefeated season in 1999.
Chose FAU: “Coach Roberts was a big factor in Joe’s decision,” said Coach Schneider. “Joe went on his full complement of visits.”

Personal: Criminal Justice major…born February 16, 1981…goal is to play professional football.
