2003: Returned to the field to grab a starting spot and saw action in every game...was instrumental in the team's offensive success...with his fellow lineman saw the team rise to a no. 4 national ranking and a no. 2 national rank for passing efficiency...earned honorable mention honors on the I-AA Independent All-Star team and received second team honors on Don Hansen's Weekly Gazette All-South Team.
2002: Played and started in five games until a back injury forced him to the sideline and into surgery…used the remainder of the season, spring and summer for rehabilitation…expected to return in 2003.
2001: Made the successful transition from defense to offense...played in all but two games (Gardner-Webb and St. Peter=s) due to an ankle injury...predominately at left tackle.
2000: One of the strongest players on the team...alternated at no.1 throughout the spring on the defensive line...staff believes he will make an outstanding offensive lineman.
High School: Played for Bill Bretherick at Spanish River High School...named All-County, All-District, and participated in the Outback All-Star Game...led the team to a 6-5 finish and played in the 6A play-offs...as a senior, earned 32 solo tackles and 20 assists...two-sport athlete (football and basketball).
Coach Bill Broterick’s Comments: “Dave chose FAU because it is a local program. It’s close to home and I see a lot of support for it. Dave’s family is around here and it was such a great opportunity for him, he had to take it.”
