COACHING ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Joined Florida Atlantic’s staff in December of 1999, faced youth and injuries in the inaugural two seasons. Was part of the bitter rivalries that developed between Miami and Florida. Credited with three points after Coach Schnellenberger ordered Danny Miller to kick a 25-yard field goal on the game’s final play to give Miami the 31-7 victory, the largest victory margin in the 42-year history of UF’s stadium. Coach Schnellenberger called for the kick because Vagotis was hit in the head by an orange thrown from Florida fans who were heaving oranges, ice and other debris at the Miami bench throughout the game.

AT FAU
Joined Florida Atlantic's staff in December of 1999 and has been the coaching constant since the program's inception…moved from the offensive line to the defensive line where he was used to mentor the highly touted incoming freshmen knowing they would be needed to play in 2005…as the mainstay with the offensive line, faced youth and injuries in the inaugural two seasons. The line entered 2003 with more depth and experience at every spot. He witnessed the same young men who were beaten the year before become the victors. The unit provided better quarterback protection equating into the signal caller ending the year with a no. 4 efficiency rating. Three linemen earned post-season honors. In 2004 nearly every “O” lineman returned allowing him to return to the defensive side of the ball, a position he will again coach in 2005.

PLAYING CAREER
Won three national titles playing for the legendary Paul “Bear” Bryant.

At Miami, Bernie Kosar, quarterback who led UM to a National Championship and who was drafted in the supplemental draft by the Cleveland Browns.
At Miami, Reggie Sutton, drafted in the second round by the New Orleans Saints.
