BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic football team has three players named by HERO Sports as Preseason Group of Six All-Americans, with fifth-year WR Easton Messer on the first-team offense and OL Vincent Fiacable on the third-team offense as well as DL CJ Doggette Jr. on the third-team defense.
Continuing a summer of preseason accolades, the trio of team captains in Messer, Fiacable, and Doggette Jr. will play key roles for the Owls in the upcoming 2026 season, the second under Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Zach Kittley. All three earned spots on the East-West Shriner 1,000.
Messer was one of the nation's top receivers in '25, leading Division I in catches per game with 8.67. He has taken additional first-team slots on the preseason All-Conference first teams of the Phil Steele and Athlon Magazines and is a member of the Paul Hornung Watch List that denotes the most versatile player in college football.
Fiacable helped protect an elite passing attack that finished No. 1 in total offense (340.1 per game). He was nominated for the Rimington Trophy which rewards the nation's best center.
Doggette Jr. has set the tone for the defensive front, leading the Owls in sacks (four) and tackles for loss (seven) in the previous campaign. In addition to first-team honors on the Phil Steele and Athlon Magazines, he is on the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list for best defensive player and Rimington Trophy watch list for defensive lineman.
Florida Atlantic football will look for these numerous preseason accolades to translate on the field in '26, with the season kicking off on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Florida.
