BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's tennis team adjusted its match schedule versus No. 63 Liberty from Sunday afternoon to Saturday morning, a morning that would play to the Owls' advantage with clear blue skies, 83 degrees and humidity that few are accustomed to.
FAU picked up the 4-3 win and improved to 8-10 on the season while Liberty fell to 9-9.
QUOTABLE
"I'm proud of the way our team played today," said Ricardo Gonzalez, FAU's director of tennis. "This is a tough Liberty team that has beaten us the last two years. We competed hard and stayed composed in the tough moments."

THE BEGINNING
The FAU duo of Mark Havlicek / Marek Pazdera captured the top court by a 6-4 score and combined with the efforts of the court #2 team of Vanja Hodzic and Lucca Pignaton to win the best of three courts for the match's doubles points.

Liberty tied the match with a singles court #3 victory, but that would be short lived with Pazdera walking away with a 6-2, 6-4 win on court #2 and Havlicek building the lead to 3-1 with a court #1 6-3, 6-2 win. The Flames won a three-setter on court #5 to pull within one at 3-2 with two matches in progress.
