No. 16 Florida Atlantic Drops Two on Opening Day of Texas Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 16-ranked Florida Atlantic beach volleyball team dropped two hard-fought top-10 battles, falling against No. 3 USC, 5-0, and No. 10 Long Beach, 5-0, on opening day of the Texas Invitational on Friday at ATX Beach.

Florida Atlantic falls to 13-9 on the season, while USC improves to 19-3, and Long Beach moves to 17-5 overall this season.

USC jumped out to a 2-0 lead after taking courts five and four. The Trojans clinched the match at the 2s, before taking courts one and three to close out the 5-0 contest.

In the second match of the day, Long Beach took courts five and four to lead 2-0 early. The Beach clinched the match on court two, before taking court three and closing out the contest with their fifth point at court one to close out the match.
