BOCA RATON, Fla. – Before American Conference play continues, the Florida Atlantic softball team will have a midweek matchup versus FIU on Wednesday, March 25 in Miami. First pitch between the Owls (21-11) and the Panthers (23-8) is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT
Florida Atlantic faced Wichita State in a three-game series, two of the three games were determined by walk-off home runs last Friday and Saturday before achieving the 3-2 victory on Sunday. Senior pitcher
Autumn Courtney recorded her fifth complete game of the season in the win, allowing just two hits and no earned runs.
ABOUT THE OWLS
- Head Coach Jordan Clark is in her fourth season at the helm of the program and owns a 142-59 record. Clark and her assistants received the American Conference Coaching Staff of the Year recognition in both 2024 and '25.
- As back-to-back regular season champions, Florida Atlantic was ranked No. 1 in the American Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- As a team, the Owls lead the American Conference in runs (189), doubles (52), RBI (168), walks (118), on-base percentage (.410), runs allowed (98), strikeouts thrown (202) opposing batting average (.241) and fielding percentage (.982).
- Florida Atlantic ranks No. 8 nationwide in fielding percentage and No. 35 in doubles.
- Redshirt junior outfielder Kylie Hammonds, currently on a 10-game hit streak, leads the conference in runs (34) and leads the team in home runs (seven). She owns the all-time program record for career hit-by-pitches (20).
- Sophomore Lily Holtje has earned both an American Player of the Week and two Honorable Mention recognitions. She leads the Owls in doubles (10), RBI (27), walks (20) and on-base percentage (.509).
- Senior third baseman Jesiana Mora has reached base in 24 out of 27 games. On Feb. 28 against Coastal Carolina, she tied FAU's single-game record in walks with four. She currently leads the Owls in OPS (1.209).
- In her second season, sophomore outfielder Bella Foran leads the team in batting average (.411).
- Courtney became the program's fifth All-American in May of 2025 after winning the unanimous American Conference Pitcher of the Year honor. She opened the '26 season earning American Pitcher of the Week and currently leads the team with 66 strikeouts in addition to a 2.48 ERA and is No. 4 nationally among all active players with 70 career victories. In March of 2026, she was named the Palm Beach County Amateur Athlete of the Year.
- Graduate pitcher Ainsley Lambert leads the nation with six saves and is the career leader among all active players with 28. She leads the American in batting average allowed (.203).
ABOUT THE PANTHERS
- Head Coach Mike Larabee is in his fifth season with the program.
- Junior outfielder Kally Meredith is No. 8 nationally in hits (51) and No. 11 in batting average (.515).
- In the circle, junior pitcher J'dah Girigorie has recorded 11 starts with six complete games, holding a 2.65 ERA with a team-high 51 strikeouts.
- FIU is No. 33 in the nation in batting average (.336) and No. 46 in hits (266).
- The Owls hold the all-time series 66-42, with the two teams splitting one game apiece in 2025.
