BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic softball team is back on Joan Joyce Field at FAU Softball Stadium for a stretch of four games in five days. First up is a matchup against FIU on Wednesday, April 15 beginning at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
As part of an effort for cancer awareness, Baptist Health will serve as the evening's sponsor with free red t-shirts and educational pamphlets provided while supplies last.
The Owls (26-16) and Panthers (28-13) will face off for the second time this season with the two teams last meeting in Miami on March.
LAST TIME OUT
FAU dropped three tight contests to first-place South Florida, each by one run. The series concluded with a 1-0 loss in 14 innings on Sunday. In spite of the defeat, senior pitcher
Autumn Courtney tossed a complete game in the finale and allowed no earned runs on 211 pitches.
ABOUT THE OWLS
- Head Coach Jordan Clark is in her fourth season at the helm of the program and owns a 147-62 record. Clark and her assistants received the American Conference Coaching Staff of the Year recognition in both 2024 and '25.
- Florida Atlantic ranks No. 15 nationwide in fielding percentage (.976).
- Courtney became the program's fifth All-American in May of 2025 after winning the unanimous American Conference Pitcher of the Year honor. In 2026, she has earned two American Pitcher of the Week Awards and currently leads the team with 92 strikeouts and a 2.15 ERA while standing at the top of the conference with 14 victories. Courtney is No. 4 nationally among all active players with 74 career wins. In March, she was named the Palm Beach County Amateur Athlete of the Year.
- Redshirt junior outfielder Kylie Hammonds leads the team in hits (48) and runs (42). Her nine home runs are more than any FAU player had in 2025.
- In the last 12 games, junior outfielder Ciara Gibson is batting .455 with 11 runs, six homers and 15 RBI. She drove in at least one run 10 straight games during that stretch.
- Senior third baseman Jesiana Mora leads the team in batting average (.400), and is tied for the lead in RBI (29), and doubles (11) while reaching base in 32 out of 35 starts. On Feb. 28 against Coastal Carolina, she tied FAU's single-game record in walks with four.
- Sophomore Lily Holtje has earned both an American Player of the Week and two Honorable Mention recognitions. She leads the Owls in walks (25) and is tied for the lead in RBI (29) and doubles (11).
- Sophomore outfielder Bella Foran has just three strike outs in 81 at-bats. She is batting .358.
- Graduate pitcher Ainsley Lambert is No. 2 in the nation with six saves and is the career leader among all active Division I players with 28.
ABOUT THE PANTHERS
- Head Coach Mike Larabee is in his fifth season with the program.
- Junior outfielder Kally Meredith is No. 11 nationally in hits (65) and No. 15 in batting average (.474).
- In the circle, junior pitcher J'dah Girigorie has recorded 14 starts with seven complete games, holding a 3.37 ERA and a team-high 60 strikeouts.
- FIU is No. 51 in the nation in hits (353).
- The Owls are leading the all-time series 67-42 and won their previous matchup on March 25, a 10-3 victory at FIU.
