BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic's softball team concluded the 2026 Paradise Classic with victories over Delaware and Stonehill on Sunday afternoon.
The Owls (5-0) allowed no hits against the Skyhawks (0-5) in the 10-0 win in the early slot before taking a tightly contested 4-2 outing against the Blue Hens (1-4) to keep their undefeated start to the season alive.
GAME ONE
The Owls jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first sparked by a leadoff double from redshirt junior outfielder
Kylie Hammonds who then scored off an error by the Skyhawks. Two batters later, senior third baseman
Jesiana Mora launched her first home run of the year, a two-run shot to right field.
FAU's lead grew in the bottom of the third with redshirt senior shortstop
McKenna Mulholland's homer, followed by a five-run fourth inning. Sophomore
Lily Holtje brought home two runners on a sacrifice fly to build the 10-0 lead.
Making her first start with the Owls as a pitcher, senior
Madison Inscoe retired 12 consecutive batters after an error on the opening plate appearance to record the win. Freshman
Ashlynn Durkin made her collegiate debut in the top of the fifth to finish off the combined no-hitter.
GAME TWO
The Owls had to battle back from an early 2-0 deficit, but they quickly responded in the bottom of the first inning off a game tying two-run single by Holtje.
Junior
Kiley Shelton began the bottom of the fourth with a double and senior
Chloe Yeatts' sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth brought the go ahead run home. With two Blue Hen runners on base and one out in the top of the sixth, the reigning national saves leader
Ainsley Lambert entered and struck one out and welcomed an inning ending throw from sophomore leftfielder
Bella Foran for the catch and tag by FAU senior catcher
Chloe Yeatts to end the threat in the top of the sixth.
Florida Atlantic plated one more run in the bottom of the frame via a sacrifice fly by Mulholland scoring freshman
