BOCA RATON, Fla. – The No. 23 Florida Atlantic softball team is heading north for the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational, a multi-day tournament hosted by ESPN showcasing the best teams in collegiate softball.
For the Owls (5-0), their five-game slate in three days will open with facing the consensus No. 1 team in the nation, Texas Tech, on Friday, Feb. 13, with a 4 p.m. first pitch. They will then face No. 5 Florida State at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 14, FAU goes up against No. 2 Tennessee at noon, followed by Missouri at 3 p.m. The tournament concludes with a matchup against James Madison on Sunday, Feb. 15, at14 p.m.
All games with Florida Atlantic will be on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT
The Owls went undefeated in the season-opening Paradise Classic at FAU Softball Stadium, bringing down three Big Ten opponents in the first three days. They beat Indiana in five innings with an 8-0 shutout, followed by a 10-6 win over Ohio State and a 4-3 victory versus Wisconsin. The tournament concluded with a 10-0 run-rule victory against Stonehill and a 4-2 win versus Delaware.
ABOUT THE OWLS
- Head Coach Jordan Clark is in her fourth season at the helm of the program. She owns a 126-48 record, currently the 13th best winning percentage among current coaches with multiple years, and is 9-3 over the last two seasons against opponents from the Big Ten, SEC, Big 12, and ACC. Clark and her assistants have received the American Conference Coaching Staff of the Year recognition in both 2024 and '25.
- Florida Atlantic was ranked No. 1 in the American Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Senior pitcher Autumn Courtney became the program's fifth All-American after winning the unanimous American Conference Pitcher of the Year. She opened the '26 season winning American Pitcher of the Week after recording two wins and a save against all three Big Ten opponents with 16 total strikeouts.
- In her debut weekend with the Owls, sophomore Lily Holtje recorded five hits, six walks, three doubles, a home run, and six RBI. She was awarded the season's first American Player of the Week.
- All-Conference first team member and senior catcher Chloe Yeatts returns. In 2025, she set the single-season program record in RBI with 54.
- Redshirt junior outfielder Kylie Hammonds, the Owls' third All-Conference first teamer, has reached base in 31 consecutive games dating back to 2025.
- Senior third baseman Jesiana Mora is the reigning American Defensive Player of the Year and an All-Conference second team recipient.
- Pitcher Ainsley Lambert, the program's all-time leader in saves, returns after leading the nation in 2025 with 11.
- Sophomore outfielder Bella Foran was named by D1Softball as a Freshman All-American and made the All-Conference second team after leading the league with a .419 batting average.
- As a team, the Owls finished the 2025 season ranked second nationally in fielding percentage (.983).

The Owls will have a quick turnaround, heading to Fort Myers to face Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday, Feb. 17. First pitch is at 6 p.m. on ESPN+. FAU will then host its second and final tournament of the season with the Joan Joyce Classic set from Thursday, Feb. 19 to 22.
