GREENSBORO N.C./ORLANDO Fla. – History made! On the final day of competition, the Florida Atlantic men's swimming and diving team became ASUN Conference champions, its first conference title in program history. The women's swimming and diving team continued its success at the American Conference Championships on day four, recording three medals and
Megan Drover-Smith earning the gold in the 200 back.
For the men, it came down to the last event. The Owls won the men's 400 free relay in a program-record time, giving them enough points to become co-ASUN champions with Queens.
Daniel Laureyssens was named ASUN Male Most Outstanding Swimmer, with
Rocco Simonelli earning a share of the ASUN Male Most Outstanding Diver award.
For the women, the last night of the conference championships was one for the record books. Drover-Smith broke her own 200 back program record, and after a silver medal in 2025, she became the conference champion in '26. On the day, the Owls won three medals, bring their total to four medals.

Men
- The final night began with another program record and gold medal for Laureyssens. He won the 100 free in a record time of 42.59, besting his own record.
- In the 200 back, the Owls saw freshman Simon Wright and Taylor Eaton contribute points in the "A" final, finishing sixth and seventh.
- John Reese Taylor took home fourth in the 200 breast in a program-record time of 1:57.11.
- Jayden Repak, Wyatt Porch, and Matthew Hand all contributed points in the 200 breast.
- Gianni Carlino, Rush Clark, Akant Durur, and Sabian Branch all contributed points in the 1650 free.
- On the platform dive, Trevor Kuhn became a conference champion, winning the event after totaling a score of 320.40.
- Simonelli earned bronze, his fourth medal of the championships, totaling a score of 268.20.
- It the 400 free relay team of Leyton Roe, Laureyssens, Noah Reeves, and James Shevchenko that took gold, clinching FAU a share of the championship. The relay team swam a new program record of 2:52.64.
Women
- Izzy Jones and Maja Piotrowicz opened up night four in the 100 free, both scoring points in the "B" final.
- Drover-Smith won the 200 back after besting her own school record, swimming 1:55.24.
- The Owls were well represented in the 200 breast with Nula Gow earning silver in a program-record time of 2:10.77 and Ella Freeman earning bronze.
- Bilú Bianchi swam in the 200 breast "B" final, scoring points for FAU.
- On the diving board, Grace Powell qualified for the "B" final with Augusta Ness making the "C" final.
- In the last event of the championships, the 400 free saw the Owls finish seventh with a time of 3:22.14.
ON DECK
The 2025-26 season will continue with postseason competitions in the coming weeks. Owl divers who qualify are set for the Diving B Zone Championships taking place from Mar. 9 to Mar. 14. Select Owls will then compete in the National Invitational Championships, held in Ocala, Florida from Thursday, Mar. 12 – Saturday, Mar. 14. inside the FAST facility. The 2025 NCAA Championships are scheduled from Mar. 26 – 29 for the men with
Daniel Laureyssens qualifying in two events.
