Owls Battle Weather for a Win at South Alabama

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's tennis battled travel plans and cold temperatures to pick up a 4-1 victory over host South Alabama on Thursday afternoon.
With the win, the Owls improved to 3-2 on the year while the Jaguars fell to 2-2. The all-time series between the two schools now stands at 10-8 in favor of FAU.

"Today wasn't our best performance on the court, but I'm proud that we managed to secure the win," said Ricardo Gonzalez, FAU's director of tennis. "Shout out to Simon and Segundo for taking care of business; which really helped us carry momentum across the board."
THE BEGINNING
The duo of Vanja Hodzic / Lucca Pignaton were the first Owls to walk off the court with a win on doubles court #3. Mark Havlicek / Marek Pazdera captured court #1 to clinch the doubles point for Florida Atlantic. Court #3 was not finished.
THE MIDDLE
Simon Myslivec was the first to give FAU a singles point with a court #4 6-4, 6-2 win. The junior from the Czech Republic gave the Owls a 2-0 lead before Goity Zapico made it 3-0 with a top court win at 6-3, 7-5.

USA recorded its first point with a straight set win on court #4. Havlicek closed out the match for the Owls with a come from behind 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory on court #2 to clinch victory for FAU.
