Owls Set to Host Back-to-Back Home Matches

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Florida Atlantic's women's soccer team prepares to host two matches at home, opening up with Florida Gulf Coast on Thursday, Aug 28, at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, the Owls will host Lipscomb at noon to close out the month of August.

Thursday's matchup marks the first match the Owls (0-3-1) play at the FAU Soccer Stadium this season as they host the Eagles (1-1-0). The match against FGCU will air on FAUSports.com. Beforehand, fans are encouraged to support the No. 22 men's soccer team as they take on Jacksonville at 5:30 p.m., with an opportunity to win a copy of the EA Sports 2025 FC video game and a chance to upgrade it to the ultimate edition during the match against FGCU. On Sunday, FAU will host Lipscomb (2-0-1) for the second time in program history. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. on FAUSports.com. All home games at the FAU Soccer Stadium are free admission.

ABOUT THE OWLS

Head Coach Patrick Baker enters his 13th season at the helm of the Owls. Baker is one of the top 40 winningest active Division I women's soccer head coaches.
The Owls enter their third season in the American Conference.
Defender Daniella Diaz, midfielder Morgan McDonald, and forward Michelle Horan were named the Owls' three players to watch by the American.
FAU has 12 newcomers on the roster in 2025.
The senior Horan added to her assist total versus FIU to improve to 8 in her career.
Freshman Isabel Bostic, graduate student Sloane Young, and senior Leila Etemadi are the three leading goal scorers with one each.
Etemadi recorded her first career goal against the Panthers.
Three Owls (Hailey Santiago, Sydney Neira, and Horan) have totaled one assist each thus far on the season.

ABOUT THE EAGLES

Jim Blankenship is in his 19th season at the helm at FGCU.
Erika Zschuppe was named Atlantic Sun Conference Preseason Player and Midfielder of the Year.
The Eagles were ranked No. 2 in the ASUN Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Three Eagles (Kendal Gargiula, Lauren Dwyer, and Zschuppe) were named in the Preseason All-ASUN Team.
In two games, Zschuppe has recorded three goals to become the leading scorer for the Eagles.
Five different players have recorded an assist on the season.

ABOUT THE BISONS

Head Coach Kevin O'Brien enters his 14th season at the helm for Lipscomb.
The Bisons were picked first in the ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll.
Lipscomb will face Miami on Thursday, Aug. 28, before making the trip to Boca Raton.
The Bisons have displayed versatility with six different goal scorers this year.
Junior Bella Carapazza leads Lipscomb in assists with two on the season.

SERIES HISTORY

The Owls have played the Eagles four times, dating back to 2020 when the match ended in a 0-0 draw after double overtime.
FGCU leads the series against FAU with a 1-2-1 record.
FAU won the match 1-0 in the 2023 season, the last time the Eagles traveled to Boca Raton.
The Owls hold a 3-0 record against the Bisons.
Florida Atlantic and Lipscomb two programs will face each other for the first time in ten years. The last matchup was in Nashville, Tenn. when the Owls won 10-0.
