JACKSONVILLE. Fla. – The
Florida Atlantic women's track & field team finished day one of the East Coast Relays, hosted by the University of North Florida, on Friday evening, highlighted by
Jessica Hatch breaking a program record in the 1500m.
The Owls began the evening with
Camilla Nicholas competing in the 200-meter run. In the 1500-meter, three runners (Hatch,
Constance Pittet, and
Anabell Reumann) represented FAU. To close out the night, five Owls ran in the 5000-meter.
- Nicholas finished the night with a 24.95 in the 200-meter.
- After 20 years, Hatch broke the school record in the 1500-meter. She finished with a 4:27.58 for personal best on the evening.
- Junior Reumann etched her name in the record book with a 4:31.06 in the 1500-meter, third all-time.
- Pittet was one of the three Owls who finished within the top 20, finishing with a 4:37.25.
- Junior Andi VanMeter finished the night with a season best in the 5000-meter with a time of 18:17.43.
The Owls will remain in Jacksonville for the second and final day of the East Coast Relays. The first event of the day for FAU will be the high jump.
