Owls Close Out Road Stretch with Weekend Series at ECU

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Florida Atlantic baseball starts a weekend series with East Carolina on Friday night in Greenville, North Carolina. First pitch between the Owls (20-9, 2-4) and the Pirates (20-10, 6-0) is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPN+. Saturday's middle game will get underway at 4 p.m. Sunday's finale begins at 1 p.m. This will be the Owls' first trip to the 5,000-seat Clark-LeClair Stadium.

OWLS IN REVIEW

The Owls got back on the winning track with an 8-3 victory over FGCU on Tuesday in Fort Myers.
The Owls finished with 11 hits, led by two each from Jake Duer and Brando Leroux.
All nine position players recorded at least one hit.
Zach Kilby earned his first win as an Owl with five solid innings on the mound.

WHO'S HOT

Marshall Lipsey doubled and walked on Tuesday to extend his reached-base streak to 27 games.
Duer has multiple hits in 16 of 29 games. He had a single and a double in the win over FGCU.
Dylan Murphy had a two-RBI single on Tuesday – his second consecutive game with a run-scoring hit.
Trey Beard was named to the Golden Spikes Award midseason watchlist on Thursday. The sophomore is second in Division I with 62 strikeouts.

THE OPPONENT

ECU is fresh off midweek wins over UNCW and Elon on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Pirates have swept the first two conference weekends against Memphis and Rice.
Projected Friday night starter Ethan Norby is second to Beard in the AAC in strikeouts (60).

OPPONENT HISTORY

The Owls and the Pirates met in Boca Raton for the first time in a decade last season.
ECU took two of three and leads the all-time series 4-3.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Owls will return to their home field for the first time in three weeks when Memphis visits the FAU Baseball Stadium on Friday, April 11.
