BOCA RATON, Fla. –
Bella Foran of the No. 25 Florida Atlantic softball team was named to the 2025 NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year Top 25 list on Friday afternoon.
In her stellar debut collegiate campaign, Foran leads the Owls (38-9, 17-4) with 59 hits and a .461 batting average, the latter of which ranks 17th nationwide. She has also made her mark defensively with 99 putouts, the most among FAU outfielders.
Created in 2014, the NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year award honors outstanding athletic achievement among DI freshmen softball student-athletes.
This year's finalists hail from 24 different universities and represent 10 NCAA Division I conferences from across the nation. On May 8, the list will be trimmed to the top 10 and the three finalists will be released on May 22. The winner will be announced on May 27, prior to the start of the 2025 NCAA Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City.
Florida Atlantic hosts their final home series of the 2025 season, taking on Memphis with Friday's first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
