Owls on the Road for Series Against ECU

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic's softball team heads out of state for the first time in the month of April to face East Carolina from Thursday, April 17 to Saturday, April 19. Thursday and Friday's first pitch will each take place at 5 p.m. followed by a noon matchup on Saturday, all on ESPN+

The Owls (35-9, 14-4) remain atop of the American Athletic Conference standings and will take on the fifth-place Pirates (25-19, 10-8).

LAST TIME OUT

FAU achieved its fifth run-rule victory in conference play, winning 8-0 over North Texas in five innings to conclude the three-game series.

The Owls held a 2-0 lead entering the bottom of the fifth and piled on six runs, capitalizing on back-to-back and multiple Mean Green errors, to end the game.

ABOUT THE OWLS

The Owls are led by Head Coach Jordan Clark in her third season at the helm of the program with a record of 111-45.
Among members of the AAC, Florida Atlantic leads in batting average (.326), hits (379), stolen base percentage (.896), shutouts (eight), strikeouts (236), and opponent batting average (.215).
Nationwide, Florida Atlantic is third in fielding percentage, 23rd in hits, tied for 25th in doubles (69), 32nd in batting average, 34th in ERA (2.67), 34th in runs (273) and strikeouts, and 42nd in RBI (240).
Junior third baseman Jesiana Mora has hit a career-high seven home runs to lead the team.
Sophomore shortstop Kiley Channell is tied for the conference lead in doubles (12).
Redshirt sophomore outfielder Kylie Hammonds has reached base in 40 out of 44 games on the season. She leads the Owls in runs (39), walks (25), and hit-by-pitches (11).
Freshman outfielder Bella Foran is 15th nationwide in batting average (.467) and tied for 44th in hits (56). She has reached base safely in 16 consecutive games.
Junior pitcher Autumn Courtney has won a league-high four AAC Pitcher of the Week awards. With an 18-2 record on the season, she is tied for third nationally in victories and is ranked 29th in strikeouts (125) and 40th in ERA (1.92). She has also held opponents to just a .162 batting average, lowest in the conference.
Senior pitcher Ainsley Lambert is tied for the NCAA lead in saves with eight to go with her 6-1 record and has an ERA of 1.88, the 35th lowest nationwide.
The Owls have recorded five run-rule wins in AAC play and 11 during the 2025 campaign, their most in a single year since their debut season in 1995.

ABOUT THE PIRATES

East Carolina is led by Head Coach Shane Winkler in his fourth year with the program.
The Pirates have hit a conference-leading 54 home runs, tied for 24th most nationwide.
On offense, ECU counts on power hitter Emma Jackson, who leads the team with 14 homers, as well as sophomore outfielder Kanisha Anderson, who is at the top of the conference and just outside of the national top 10 with 63 base hits.
Sophomore Taylor Apple and freshman Kendall Frost lead the pitching staff. Apple is second in the conference behind Courtney in strikeouts with 99 and Frost is fourth with 86.
The season series between the Pirates and Owls is tied at 4-4. Florida Atlantic has won the last two meetings.

The Owls will play their final home series of 2025 from Friday, April 25 to Sunday, April 27, hosting Memphis (16-27, 4-14) at FAU Softball Stadium on ESPN+.
