BOCA RATON, Fla. – Gianni Carlino of the Florida Atlantic men's swimming & diving team has been named to the 2024-25 Swimming & Diving Academic All-SUN Team, announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.
The junior from Detroit currently has a 3.881 cumulative GPA, majoring in International Business. Carlino has not only been successful in the classroom, but in the pool as well. At the 2025 ASUN Conference Championships, Carlino swam to a second-place finish in the 1650 free in a time of 15:43.23. He also finished seventh overall for the Owls in the 500 free A-Final and tenth in the 400 IM.
In order to qualify for Academic All-ASUN Team, student-athletes must have a cumulative 3.50 GPA, have completed four (4) semesters of college coursework OR 50% of progress towards a degree and have one year of residence at the institution.
The 2024-25 season will continue postseason competitions in the coming weeks. Owl divers who qualify are set for the Diving B Zone Championships taking place from Mar. 9 to Mar. 12. Select Owls will then compete in their third National Invitational Championships, held in Ocala, Florida from Thursday, Mar. 13 – Saturday, Mar. 15. inside the FAST facility. The 2025 NCAA Championships are scheduled from Mar. 19 - 22 for the women and Mar. 26 – 29 for the men.
