Upcoming Event: Swimming & Diving versus NCAA Women's National Championships on March 18, 2026 at All Day

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's swimming and diving team continue to earn postseason awards with six Owls being named to the 2025-26 Swimming & Diving Academic All-ASUN Team. Senior Daniel Laureyssens received the conference's highest honor as Men's Swimming Scholar Athlete of the Year, announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Laureyssens, currently has a 3.800 cumulative GPA, majoring in International Business. The Belgium native had a historic conference championship meet, totaling six medals, five of them being gold. He became the first male owl since 2006 to punch his ticket to the NCAA Championship meet.
Gianni Carlino, Taylor Eaton, Trevor Kuhn, Laureyssens, Payne Smith, and Christoffer Weiss were the six Owls named to the Academic All-SUN team. For Carlino, this award marks the second straight season he finds himself on the academic team. He currently boosts a 3.896 in International Business.
In order to qualify for Academic All-ASUN Team, student-athletes must have a cumulative 3.50 GPA, have completed four (4) semesters of college coursework OR 50% of progress towards a degree and have one year of residence at the institution.
ON DECK
All eyes now point towards the 2026 NCAA Championships, scheduled from March 25 – 28, with Laureyssens swimming in the 50 free and 200 free.
