Owls Host Three In a Row

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's tennis will host their final three home matches of the 2025 season, beginning with Georgia State on Tuesday, Mar. 18 at 11 a.m. and East Tennessee State on Wednesday, Mar. 19 at 5 p.m. The homestand will conclude with senior day on Sunday, Mar. 23 at 1 p.m. where the Owls take on Tulane. All three of the matches will be played at Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center.
The Owls are coming off a four-match winning streak, with their last two ending in a 4-3 victory over Pennsylvania on Friday, Mar. 14 and a 5-2 win over Virginia Commonwealth on Saturday, Mar. 15. FAU came from behind on Friday to beat UPenn, where freshman Segundo Goity Zapico went into three sets and a tie breaker to give the Owls the win. Zapico and sophomore Mark Havlicek won their singles matchups on back-to-back days.
The last matchup between Florida Atlantic and Georgia State, on Feb. 11, 2024, ended in a 4-0 victory for the Owls. FAU and East Tennessee State are tied at 3-3 in their overall record. The Owls won the last matchup with East Tennessee State by a score of 5-2 on Mar. 14, 2024.
