BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Florida Atlantic's women's track & field team completed their first day of the 2025 Indoor American Athletic Conference Championships with new program records on Friday evening.
The Owls set a new school record in the distance medley relay and a new top-10 entry in the 5000 meter run to start off strong during the kickoff of the indoor postseason.
- Elyssa Toal, Sofia Molina, Constance Pittet, and Leah Helms recorded a time of 11:46.47 in the DMR, etching their names a top of the Florida Atlantic record book for the event
- In the 5000 meter, Isabel O'Brien registered a new personal best with a 17:40.20 to move herself up in the record book to No. 7 all-time
- Jessica Hatch in the mile punched her ticket for a spot in Saturday's final after earning an automatic qualifying spot for her second place in heat two running 4:53.98
- Junior Rosa ten Berg was the second Owl to qualify for a final on Saturday, earning a spot in the 800 meter final after running a prelim time of 2:12.58
- In the 400 meter, Jada Bolhuis was the top finisher for the Owls, running a 57.21
- Kayla Hopkins ran a time of 7.63 in the 60 meter dash, her second fastest performance of the season
Florida Atlantic will close out day two in the AAC Indoor Championships on Saturday, Mar. 1, before starting the outdoor season.
