DELAND, Fla. – A game-winning home run from
Chloe Yeatts propelled the No. 25 Florida Atlantic softball team past Stetson for a 5-3 victory on Sunday afternoon.
The 15-2 Owls completed the Stetson Invitational with a perfect 5-0 record, with comebacks in four of the five games, and are now winners of six straight, hitting 10 home runs in their last four.
Owl bats heated up in the top of the second inning with sophomore catcher
Corin Dammeier launching the first home run of her collegiate career. The Hatters responded in the bottom of the frame with three straight hits leading to a run of their own and tacked on one more in the fourth.
Senior pitcher Aisnley Lambert entered the game in the fourth inning, dishing out four strikeouts before Stetson added a run in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-1 lead.
Down to their final out in the top of the seventh, the Owls showed no panic and kept sending players on base with three straight singles. Sophomore shortstop
Kiley Channell's single to right field scored freshman outfielder
Bella Foran. With two more on base, Yeatts stepped up the plate and launched the winning bomb, her second of the season, for the 5-3 victory.

- Nine different Owls have hit a home run this season
- Yeatts' three-run HR puts her at a conference-leading 18 RBI on the season
- Lambert recorded four saves and one win during the five-game tournament
- Foran has recorded a hit in 13 out of her last 14 games and currently leads the American Athletic Conference with 26 on the season
