Florida Atlantic Scores 112 in Mega Bowl Win

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Behind seven scorers in double figures, the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team reached the century mark against Saint Leo in a 112-55 victory on Wednesday evening at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.
The Owls (7-3) earned the highly coveted 12-foot Boca Raton Mega Bowl trophy with their third most points in program history and fourth highest margin of victory. FAU outscored the Lions (4-5) 64-18 in the second half.
For the second game in a row, a freshman recorded a career outing, this time Yohann Sissoko scoring 20 points on 8-for-9 shooting.
FIRST HALF
The Owls attacked the glass early, with eight offensive and 18 total rebounds in the first 10 minutes. They finished the opening period with a 25-10 rebounding advantage.
Back-to-back triples from junior forward Xander Pintelon and redshirt sophomore guard Devin Vanterpool opened up a double-digit lead with nine minutes to go.
Two free throws from Vanterpool gave him 15 for the half and the Owls a 48-37 lead at the buzzer.
SECOND HALF
Florida Atlantic came out of the gates swinging with a 12-0 run for a 21-point lead, keyed by seven points from sophomore guard Isaiah Elohim. The lead grew to 42 off an 18-0 run, culminating in three shots from beyond the arc by redshirt freshman guard Max Langenfeld to go up 85-43.
The Owls reached the century mark for the first time of the season on a layup by Sissoko with three-and-a-half minutes remaining. The offense did not take its foot off the gas, with two more buckets from Sissoko and a three-pointer from redshirt freshman guard Liam Dayco-Green that stretched the lead to over 50.

UP NEXT
The Owls will host Albany on Saturday, Dec. 13, at noon on ESPN+. The afternoon will be Camper's Day, with the Owls inviting John Jakus' summer youth camp attendees back to Paradise. Holiday-themed celebrations are also planned for this Holiday Hoots game, with fans encouraged to donate unwrapped toys that will be distributed to local charities.

- For the second time this season, all 12 Owls who saw action scored.
- The Owls finished a perfect 22-for-22 from the line, the first time at 100% with 10+ attempts since 2014.
- Florida Atlantic outrebounded Saint Leo 52-23, outscored in points in the paint 54-14, and totaled 31 fastbreak points while allowing just 10.
- Langenfeld scored 15 points, his career high and first game in double-digits.
- Redshirt freshman guard Amar Amkou notched his first collegiate double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
- Vanterpool nabbed nine rebounds. He has recorded at least five in each of the team's first 10 games.
- Redshirt junior guard Niccolo Moretti dished out seven assists, most by an Owl on the season.
- Freshman guard Lachlan Smith made his collegiate debut and converted two free throws.
