BOSTON – The Florida Atlantic women's track & field team wrapped up their indoor regular season with a massive meet at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
For the Owls, they held their own in races that showcased over 300 runners in some cases with several new personal bests and entries into the program top 10 record books. All individual events, as well as the 4x400m relay, took place on Friday with the distance medley relay concluding FAU's time at the meet on Saturday.
- Isabel O'Brien set a new personal best in the 5000m (18:13.75)
- In a field of 26 competitors, Anna Cincotta finished in fifth place in the 60m hurdles (9.28)
- Adriana Lopez (7.79) and Eriana Teague (7.80) impressed in the 60m, placing in second and third, respectively. This marked a personal best for both
- Jessica Lambert competed in her first meet of the indoor season. In her signature 800m, she finished in the top quarter of a field of 304 runners with a time of 2:11.14. This marks the third best time in school history
- Rosa Ten Berg's 800m time of 2:12.91 is good for the ninth best in Florida Atlantic history
- Abraiya Elam (32nd, 25.15), Richelle Williams (33rd, 25.20), and Lopez (36th, 25.22) all placed in the top 40 out of 224 runners in the 200m
- The Owls would conclude the meet with the second FAU best time ever recorded in the distance medley relay. The team of Jessica Hatch, Adrianna Mier, Ten Berg, and Anabell Reumann posted a time of 11:59.43
Now comes time for the Owls to prepare for their first American Athletic Indoor Championships. The meet will be held in Birmingham from Friday Feb. 23 to Saturday, Feb. 24.
