GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming & diving teams will hit the road with five swimmers to compete in the 2024 Toyota U.S. Open, set to take place Dec. 4 – Dec. 7 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
This meet provides an opportunity for Owl swimmers to qualify for the national team of their home country.

The five swimmers competing come from two different countries: Belgium and the United States. Set to compete is

Women
- For the second straight season the women took the victory at the Patriot invitational, racking up a total of 1936 points
- The Owls saw a school record performance in the women's 200 free relay. The team of Ludo Pavia, Izzy Jones, Dolores Margni and Bry Bellile finished the race in a time of 1:31.57, besting the school record which was previously 1:32.30
- The Owls then took the win 400 free relay. The Owls clocked a time of 3:21.26 for another new school record
- Ludo Pavia set a new freshman record in the 100 breast (1:01.66)
- The final night of midseason ended with a win in the 400 free relay. The team of Pavia –Bellile –Jones – Aura Vilarrasa clocked a winning time of 3:21.26 for a new school record

Men
- The men's team won, completing the sweep for the second season in a row, with 1953.50
- The Owls set a new school record in the 800 free relay. Timo Paisley, Thornsberry, James Shevchenko and Laureyssens clocked a time of 6:31.01 Freshman James Shevchenko then won the 200 fly in a time of 1:47.57
- In the 100 breast, Matthew Hand and Jayden Repak both set freshman records for the Owls in times of 55.59 and 55.61.
- On the diving board Friday, the Owls went two, three, four with the help of Trevor Kuhn (342.00), Isac Faxius (339.10) and Rocco Simonelli (327.40)
- The final night concluded with a third-place finish in the 400 free relay. The team of Paisley, Thornsberry, Payne Smith and Laureyssens finished in a time of 2:59.13

Select Owl swimmers will participate in the CSCAA Open Water National Championship on Dec. 15. The next official meet for Florida Atlantic will be Dec. 14 in Coral Cables as the Owls face the University of Miami women's team and Cincinnati.
