Five Owls Wrap Up 2024 Toyota U.S. Open

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Select swimmers from Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed the four-day long Toyota U.S. Open meet Saturday night.
The Owls had five athletes competing, representing Belgium and the United States. The weekend was highlighted by Daniel Laureyssens qualifying for the 'C' final in the 200 free with a time of 54.28 and Riley Trout qualifying for the 'C' final in the 100 back.

WEDNESDAY
- Wednesday was the meet's relay day with the Owls competing in two different relays
- In the 200 medley, the Owls clocked a time of 1:33.67
- The last relay of the night was the 800 free relay where the Owls recorded a time of 6:49.81
THURSDAY
- Logan Thornsberry got Thursday started in the 50 free, recording a time of 20.68
- Laureyssens shortly behind clocked a 50 free time of 20.72
FRIDAY
- A jam-packed Friday got started with Rush Clark in the 100 fly, finishing in a time of 49.02
- In the 200 free, Laureyssens earned himself a spot in the "C" final, finishing 22nd in a time of 1:38.46, moved up 5 spots in the finals, finishing 17th (1:36.73)
- Also in the 200 free, Thornsberry clocked a time of 1:40.15
- In the 100 back, Trout finished 24th in the prelims, qualifying for the finals in a time of 55.96, finishing 22nd in the finals (55.82)
- The night ended with a fourth-place Owls finish in the men's 200 free relay (1:20.11)
SATURDAY
- The men's 100 free got the final day of action started with Laureyssens recording a time of 44.81
- Thornsberry was once again shortly behind, swimming to a time of 44.87
- The events concluded with another fourth-place finish, this time in the 400 free relay (2:58.53)
ON DECK
Select Owl swimmers will participate in the CSCAA Open Water National Championship on Dec. 15. The next official meet for Florida Atlantic will be Dec. 14 in Coral Cables as the Owls face the University of Miami women's team and Cincinnati.OWLS ON SOCIAL MEDIA
