BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams are back on the road this weekend, set to head south to compete in the yearly TYR Fall Classic, hosted by FIU at the Doral Aquatic Center on Friday and Saturday.
After using last weekend as a time trial, the women's team is back in action for the second time this season.
Friday's meet action on Oct. 1 will begin at 5 p.m, with Saturday's events on Oct. 2nd beginning at 10 a.m. Live results can be found on Meet Mobile.
This year's meet, along with the Owls, will feature host team FIU, American Conference foes East Carolina and Tulane, Florida Gulf Coast, Keiser, and St. Thomas.
2025 TYR FALL CLASSIC
At the 2025 TYR Fall Classic last October, the Owls' men's team won the meet, scoring a total of 515 points and the women finishing as runners-up in their field. The victory for the men marked the second win in three years at the meet. Over the course of the two days, FAU achieved 15 first-place victories.
LAST TIME OUT
The men's team completed its first home meet of the season, against the No. 2 Florida Gators, at Coral Springs Aquatic Center. The Owls, despite falling to the Gators, dropped times across the board compared to their season opener a week prior. For the women swimmers, they used the weekend as a time trial opportunity preparing for the TYR meet. James Shevchenko was FAU's top performer, finishing second in the 200 IM and third in the 200 free. Ryder Hamann was the lone men's diver, finishing fifth on the 1-meter with a score of 264.15, and a 251.18 on the 3-meter, placing fourth. The women's diving team competed, with Augusta Ness placing fifth on the 1-meter scoring 243.00. On the 3-meter diving board, sophomore Fynn Langley totaled a score of 214.95, also finishing fifth overall.
ON DECK
The Owls will be back at the Doral Aquatic Center on Saturday, Oct. 2 for the final day of the TYR Fall Classic, with meet action beginning at 10 a.m.
