Florida Atlantic Set to Host FAU Fun Invite

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set to host the annual FAU Fun Invite at the FAU Aquatic Center on Friday, Dec. 20 against conference foe East Carolina as well as Old Dominion. The action will begin at 10 a.m. EST.

At last year's FAU Fun Invite versus Old Dominion, UIC, and Rice, the Owls enjoyed a very successful day, taking first place in 13 events out of 32, the most out of four teams.

Admission to all home events at the FAU Aquatic Center is free.

LAST TIME OUT

Florida Atlantic wrapped up a two-meet weekend competing at the University of Miami and the 2024 CSCAA Open Water National Championship on Dec. 14 & 15.

The Owl men had a team compiled of Logan Thornsberry, Francesco Fiore and Takoda Heckman finish in a team total time of 3:46.36
Thornsberry was the Owls highest finisher coming in 31st place
On the women's side, the Owls team of Ella Freeman, Presley Staretz, Alex Stevens and Talitha McEwan complied a time of 3:36.30, good for 15th place
Freeman led the Owls finishing in 52nd place

ON DECK

The Owls will get nearly a month to recharge before hopping right back into the pool at the FAU Aquatic Center for their last home meet of the season, senior day. Hosted on Saturday, Jan. 18, the Owls will face St. Thomas (S&D) and for the second time this season, Indian River (Diving). Admission is free to all and events will begin at 11 a.m. after the senior ceremony.
