Day 1 Of Midseason Invite Highlighted By Two New School Records

Patriot Invitational Day 1 results Patriot Invitational Day 1 Team Scores (Minus Diving Events)

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed day one of the 2024 Patriot Invitational with two record breaking events and plenty of top three finishes on Thursday.

With Friday and Saturday still to come, both the men and women's teams are currently sitting in second place in their respective fields.

Women

The finals started with a school record performance in the women's 200 free relay. The team of Ludo Pavia, Izzy Jones, Dolores Margni and Bry Bellile finished the race in a time of 1:31.57, besting the school record which was previously 1:32.30
The winning continued with a 500 free victory by Cica Carvalho (4:53.27)
On the diving board, the Owls took first and third in the 3m diving with Trinity McNall taking the win, (263.10) and Lola Dragosavac in third (254.65)
The 400 medley relay concluded the day with another first place finish which led to another school record performance. The team of Aura Vilarrasa, Pavia, Margni and Jones recorded a time of 3:41.32, besting the previous school record of 3:41.47

Men

The evening began with a third-place finish in the 200 free relay. Timo Paisley, Luke Beals, Andrew Billitto and Daniel Laureyssens recorded a time of 1:20.51
The 500 free saw the Owls take second and third place. Daniel Laureyssens finished second (4:27.13) with James Shevchenko taking third (4:29.63)
The 1m diving event saw Jake Larkin take second with a season-best performance, recording a total score of 298.75.
