FAIRFAX, Va. – The Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set to compete in the annual Patriot Invitational midseason tournament meet hosted by George Mason. The 2024 edition is set to be held from Thursday, Nov. 21 to Saturday, Nov. 23.
The Owls' performance at the 2023 Invitational was their most successful Patriot Invite to date. The weekend saw six school records go down and 17 first-place finishes to go along with a team sweep. The men's team took first place with 1,059 points while the women's team also won their field with 986 points.

Men
- The 200 free relay team combined for a time of 1:19.55, a new school record
- In the 200 medley relay final, the Owls grabbed the victory in a time of 1:26.74, setting a new school record
- Timo Paisley tallied the victory in the 500 free (4:26.05) and 200 free (1:37.73)
- Peyton Ming tallied first in the 100 back (48.53)
- The Owls took the two top times in the 1650 free: Timo Paisley in first (15:36.36) and Logan Thornsberry in second (15:36.41)
Women
- Izzy Jones posted the women's first school record in the 50 free with a time of 22.88. The previous best time was set over 26 years ago
- A meet record and school record were set in the 200 medley relay (1:39.92)
- In the 400 medley relay two records were simultaneously. Riley Trout, Bilu Bianchi, Dolores Margni, and Jones combined for a record-breaking time of 3:41.47, while Trout's 100 back split of 54.35 also set the school's best mark in history.
- The 200 IM saw the Owls reach both first and second place with Roberta Circi (2:01.86) and Yasmine Safargar taking the next spot (2:39.2)
- In the 1-meter dive Trinity McNall placed second (263.50) and Selina Staudenherz took third (251.75)
The Owls are coming off a successful diving meet at the South Florida Diving Invitational hosted by FIU on Nov. 8th and 9th.
Men
- Sophomore Trevor Kuhn took the victory in the men's 1m diving totaling a score of 314.63
- Isac Faxius, Rocco Simonelli, and Jake Larkin rounded out the top 4
- In the men's 3m diving, Kuhn was victorious again with a score of 315.08
- Larkin and Simonelli took second and third place with scores of 274.80 and 258.53
Women
- Lola Dragosavac led the Owls in the women 1m diving with a score of 247.95, good for third place
- Freshman Sophia Clack was next for the Owls with a sixth-place finish, totaling a score of 214.13
- In the 3m diving, it was once again Dragosavac leading the Owls with a fourth-place finish, score of 252.83
- Grace Powell was next for the Owls in sixth place with a score of 226.95
Florida Atlantic swimmers will get the chance to reset before seeing which swimmers will compete in the Toyota U.S. Open in Greensboro, N.C. Dec. 4th to the 7
th for a chance to make their national team.
