Owls Back on the Road for TYR Fall Classic

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams are heading back on the road this weekend for the annual TYR Fall Classic, a dual meet hosted by FIU including several teams.
Friday's meet action on Oct. 4 will begin at 4 p.m. EST, with Saturday's events on Oct. 5 beginning at 10 a.m.
The Owls put forth a strong team performance in last year's meet. The men finished first out of six teams in their field, putting up a total of 527 points while the women finished second out of six schools with a total score of 494.
Men

Women
- In their first meet at Indian River, the women picked up the victory scoring 183 points
- Cecilia Carvalho was victorious in both the 500 free and 1000 free in times of (5:08.05 and 10:27.53)
- Senior Dolores Margni began her season with wins in the 100 and 200 butterfly (57.78 and 2:05.98)
- Izzy Jones started her season off strong winning both the 50 free and 100 free in times of 23.89 and 52.71.
- The day concluded with an Owls victory in the 200 free relay. The team of Bry Bellile, Ludo Pavia, Margni, and Jones recorded a time of 1:36.81
Men
- The men recorded 118 points in their season opener
- Timo Paisley got the first win of the season for the men's side, placing first in the 200 free with a time of 1:41.04
- Logan Thornsberry took the win in the 100 free (46:16)
- On the 1-meter dive, Trevor Kuhn was the winner with a score of 292.80
- In his first competition with the Owls, Isac Faxius won the 3-meter dive (327.90)
- The men closed out the meet placing third in the 200 free relay. Ming, Beals, Brett Reason, and Jayden Repak recorded a time of 1:25.19
