MIAMI – The Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams wrapped up day one of the TYR Fall Classic with strong performances across the board on Friday afternoon.
With day one in the books, both the Owls men's and women's team stand in second place with plenty of more action to go on Saturday. Thus far, the men have tallied 281 points with the women scoring 253.
Overall, the Owls were victorious in three men's events and had multiple top three finishes on both sides.
Men
- Timo Paisley got the first win of the day, winning the 200 free in a time of 1:40.44
- The Owls grabbed a second victory with Peyton Ming winning the 100 back (51.04). Ming also took finished second in the 100 fly with a time of 49.10
- On the 3-meter dive, freshman Isac Faxius was the winner with a score of 325.30, his second victory of the season. Trevor Kuhn took third (274.60)
- In the 50 free, Logan Thornsberry finished second with a time of 21.06
Women
- The women started the meet off with a second-place finish in the 400 medley relay. The team of Aura Vilarrasa, Ludo Pavia, Dolores Margni, and Izzy Jones logged a time of 3:47.24
- Cica Carvalho grabbed third for the Owls in the 200 free with a time of 1:54.42
- In the 100 fly, Margni finished third (56.50)
- The third-place finishes continued with Jones in the 50 free (23.97)
- Pavia in the 100 breast also finished third with a time of 1:04.23
- The day concluded with the Owls taking third in 200 free relay. The team of Jones, Pavia, Margni, and Bry Bellile recorded a time of 1:35.74
