TULSA, Okla. – Florida Atlantic's women's soccer team fell to the Tulsa Hurricane by a 3-1 score in a Sunday conference matchup on the road.
The Owls move to 2-8-3, 1-3-1 AAC after playing Tulsa on Sunday afternoon. This marked the second time these two teams have faced each other in program history. Florida Atlantic moves to 0-1-1 against the Hurricane in program history.
For the fourth consecutive match, the Owls put out the same starting eleven. Florida Atlantic's defense held the Hurricane to one goal in the first 45 minutes of the match. Tulsa then scored two goals within the first 15 minutes of the second half. The Owls scored and put a goal on the board as freshman
Hailey Santiago scored her first goal of her collegiate career to cut the deficit. Both teams registered eight shots on goal on the day and senior goalkeeper
Lexi Gonzalez recorded three saves, now totaling 131 in her career as an Owl.
The Owls return home to face Rice in Paradise for the first time since moving to the American Athletic Conference on Thursday, Oct. 17. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be aired on ESPN+. All home games at the FAU Soccer Stadium are free admission.
