BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic Owls remain on the road this weekend as they head to Tulsa, Oklahoma on Friday, Oct. 11 to take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane and Wichita, Kansas on Sunday, Oct. 13 to face the Wichita State Shockers.
The Owls first serve against Tulsa is set for 7 p.m. ET on Friday, while Sunday's first serve at Wichita State is set for 2 p.m. ET.
- Florida Atlantic enters this weekend's matches at 10-6 overall and 2-2 in AAC play. Last weekend, the Owls split against Memphis and Temple, sweeping the Tigers 3-0 but falling in straight sets against the Temple Owls, 3-0.
- The Owls offensive leaders are Katelynn Robine, Valeria Rosado, Natalie Depaula, and Madison Dyer, averaging 3.03, 2.72, 2.17, and 2.08 kills per set, respectively.
- Victoria Hensley leads the Owls and the AAC in assists, averaging a league-leading 10.69 assists per set.
- Brianna Anderson and Valeria Rosado lead the Owls' back row, tying for a team-high 2.52 digs per set, while Isabelle Northam, Olivia Hart, Hensley, and Romina Cornelio also contribute on the back row for the Owls, averaging 2.40, 2.27, 2.25, and 2.13 digs per set, respectively.
- At the net, the Owls are led by Kaila Ru, Madison Dyer, Depaula, and Maggie Allred, recording 1.30, 0.77, 0.72, and 0.70 blocks per set, respectively.
- Tulsa heads into the weekend at 11-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play. Last weekend, the Golden Hurricane fell in four sets to Rice but earned a straight-set sweep over Tulane.
- Offensively, the Golden Hurricane is led by Tatum Tornatta, averaging 2.88 kills per set, while Rachel Brown and Beth Bayless follow just behind with 2.24 and 2.19 kills per set, respectively. Tornatta also earned AAC Honorable Mention honors following her performance against Rice and Tulane.
- Tulsa's assists leader is Brayden Hipp, who has dished out 390 assists, averaging 6.72 assists per set.
- Defensively, Tulsa's back row is led by Marta Pecalli, tallying 4.83 digs per set, while Tytiana Johnson leads the Golden Hurricane in blocks, averaging 1.06 blocks per set.
- Wichita State enters this weekend at 8-8 overall and 3-1 in AAC play. The Shockers opened league play with three wins against Memphis, 3-1, Temple, 3-1, and UAB, 3-0, but fell in their last match in five against the Rice Owls.
- The Shockers offense is led by Morgan Stout, Emerson Wilford, Alyssa Gonzales, and Brooklyn Leggett, averaging 2.53, 2.42, 2.28, and 2.24 kills per set, respectively.
- Izzi Strand is Wichita State's assists leader, dishing out 9.11 assists per set.
- Annalie Heliste leads the Shockers in digs, averaging 3.33 digs per set, while Strand and Katie Galligan follow with 2.28 and 2.07 digs per set, respectively.
- At the net, the Shockers are led by Sarah Barham and Stout, recording 1.06 and 0.91 blocks per set, respectively.
- The Owls return to Paradise next weekend as they host Rice on Friday, Oct. 18 and South Florida on Sunday, Oct. 20.
