Owls Fall to Lady Vols in Weather-Shortened Contest

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's soccer fell by a 2-0 final against Tennessee on Sunday afternoon. The match was called after 76 minutes due to persistent lightning in the area.
Space was hard to come by for the Owls against a stout Lady Vols defense. FAU managed just one corner kick and one shot attempt for the duration of the match. Tennessee scored off a corner in the 22nd minute and added a second goal seven minutes later.
Blythe Braun made five saves in the first half before giving way to Lexi Gonzalez after the intermission. In her first action since leaving with injury in the first half of the season opener, Gonzalez finished with three saves.
